1995

Most of the stuff I did for 1995 was just drawing various Tom stuff and then lagging. I was doing a comic strip called "Daisy's Homeschool Adventures" that started in January of '95. I continued to do various Tom drawings and cracking the whip on Chrita to keep at writing, but I was working on other ideas older than Tom such as Katy and Doug (No. NOT the Doug from Nickalodeon!!!). Anyway, I kept seeking ideas from friends and family. My brother always served in character development and my friends, well....

You wouldn't believe the weird ideas I came up with and gathered from friends. Some ideas included Egghead Nog, Mr M, Civa Cloride, and an evil Barbie. Barnicles (A leach type race) were about the only decent idea. Besides gathering ideas, though, I was writing music for Captain Tom on my Tandy 1000. I sucked, but occationally got lucky with a good tune.

1998

Well that whole phase was short lived and I slowed down even more on the whole Tom thing. So severely, that it wasn't until 1998 that I started REALLY getting back into it. Sure, an occasional character developement or new character alltogether would come up durring 1996 and 1997. Even some MAJOR characters were created such as Angel and Debbi Briggs (She was just a concept back then, though, without a name. I hadn't even drawn her.). This picture (right) dates back to 1998. Amy (and just about every other crew memberof the Niven) was created on that very day I gathered ideas from my uncle Don. The only changes that ever occured in a character between the time they were created and now was pretty much in one or two drawings. Amy used to have black fur (I'm thinking of going back to that idea and giving her red eyes like real mice).

Character Changes

Some examples of character change and similarity are Trista, Amy, and Angel. Trista used to be named Angel until the black rabbit came along. Speaking of Angel, to the left is a drawing of my first idea for her appearance. In this picture, ALL the basics of her looks are there. Black rabbit, purple eyes, long frontal tuft of hair, and a purple hair band (Although, in this drawing, her helmet covers it somewhat).

In this picture (drawn on the same sheet of paper), I experimented with her a little. Most noticably, I added whiskers. Clothes are an important matter as well. What should be the general "feel" of the character? Well, many people usually get a big impact on who a person is by what they wear. After drawing this, I not only figured that whiskers weren't her, but red wasn't her color either.

Finally (STILL on that very same paper), I came up with this drawing and liked what I saw ALOT. So I wrote "Angel" in the center of the paper and gave some stats:

Age: 22

Height: 3 feet

Weight: 44 Lbs.

IQ: 199

Since then, not much has changed. She's 21 (in the year 6100), 4' 0", 66 Lbs. Other than those changes, I've only ADDED stuff about her. Although she's still a black rabbit, she's technically 50% Unknown race and 50% Blissian.
