These are the rules for the muck as written ON the muck.

Intro to Rules:

Just a note, but the order the rules are in do not, in any way, tell you the importance of the rule. These rules are also not here to give you a hard time, but rather to understand both the theme of this MUCK and the way to play on it. Every game has rules and if you cheat, it's no longer fun. Cheaters are losers since they will never know if their real abilities are good. But enough with the lechture. Enjoy!

Rule 01: No Magic Characters!

I appologise, but due to people treating Sonic like it's the Dragonball universe, I am not allowing magic except in certain cases (and ONLY these cases): Chaos Emeralds, Power Rings, and ancient unexplained technology / relics. Note that even if it is dubbed "magical", that does not mean it really is! It could have a purely scientific explanation.

Rule 02: No Second Robotniks

I understand Sonic Adventure wanted to pass Tails off as a genius who would rival even Robotnik. Well I'm here to tell you now: That will not happen often. Geniuses are allowed, but with serious moderation. You will not be given a character who can do more than rewire Robotnik's equipment or invent nifty doodads now and again. Basically, if you know who Rotor is, he is a good example.

Rule 03: Featured Characters

This muck encourages original characters. But should you want a Featured Character, there are some steps to go through: FIRST, check the list of FC's to see if the one you want is available. Email me with a simple request for the character you want. Be sure you fill out the application. But in addition to the application, you must have an interview with a wizard. And please... don't hold your breathe on this one.

Rule 04: Races

( For a list of races, go here )

A. Common Races: You can have any of these races by default and I won't argue with ya about having that race.

Please contact a wizard about the advantages and disadvantages for various subraces. For example: A Dog would be listed under the common races, but you might want a doberman specifically. This would make you stronger than, say, a french poodle. :p

Lastly, if there is a race that you do not see in any of the race listings, feel free to ask about it.

B. Uncommon Races: These are races I decided had too many advantages to be common. Some of these races are just as common ICly as the common races, but that is irrelivant.

There are some races here that are ICly uncommon also, so I went ahead and put them under this section.

To have an uncommon race, you will need to either have a very convincing application, or you will need to get an interview with a wizard.

You can not have two uncommons in a row. If you have an uncommon, you must apply for a common before considering another uncommon.

C. Rare Races: To have a rare race, you must have 2 other active non-rare race characters. Please keep in mind that by "active", I mean you actually play the characters more than once every 3 weeks. Also, you must be interviewed by a wizard. This is in ADDITION to your application.

Rule 05: No cussing

Cussing happens. I know. I realise this. But please try to understand this muck is for all ages. As for IC cussing, it is not tolerated. Sonic does not cuss and heck... even Robotnik does not use the cuss words you and I have come to know. No cussing once you start roleplay or you will be suspended from roleplay.

It should be obvious what I mean here. When you are roleplaying, you can use words like darn, crud, beans, fiddle-sticks, or even clumheep. You can also use @#$% and other such signs as a form of cursing. You may NOT spell out a cuss word using alternate means. For example |_3@rn = Learn.

I understand some don't have the same standards as I do, so you might say some cuss word and you didn't even know it was cussing. As a result of this, this rule is a 3-strike rule. If you get caught cussing on 3 occasions, you are out. Because by then, you should have been informed what is considered cussing.

Rule 06: No Public Sex

You know... what you do in private is your own business and none of mine. But once you go public, it becomes everyone's business. I do not allow sex in public on this muck. I define public as any place that is openly accessable for anyone to enter. If you own a home, that is a private place and people should page you before entering. But if you are, say, in a building in Middletown, that is a public place.

Yiffy Descriptions:

Ok... so this is not too important, but please remember that if a seven year old connects to this muck, the last thing he or she needs to read is some sexually explicit material. No sexual suggestions in your description beyond mentioning your gender.

Rule 07: Wizards

Wizards are the people in charge of the place. Wizards have special privileges. These are the cans and can-nots of wizards:

Wizards are here to help! If you have ANY concerns or problems, contact a wizard. If they are all busy, then send a page mail with the subject "GRIPE: (your complaint)" to the wizard you want help from.

A wizard can remove your character and invent an IC excuse for that character's absence if the wizard has discussed it with the other wizards.

A wizard is not exempt from the rules. Wizards are there to set the example and know the rules. Do not be fooled though. A wizard has an obligation to stay and record an argument, so they can not "walk away" like the rest of you lucky guys who can do so and then lay your problems on a wizard.

A wizard does NOT gain any IC advantage over anyone who is not a wizard. In otherwords, being a wizard will not allow you to have some guy with a nuke. Or, for that matter, anyone with magical powers. I have no intention of allowing even wizards to have an *unfair* advantage.

Last thing I wish to mention about wizards that is a slight exception to the rule "No IC advantage". While anyone who gets an approved TP has the power to roleplay NPCs, only wizards have the power to RP the FCs as NPCs (assuming the FC is not taken by a player), rare though this may be.

Rule 08: Adding or Taking from the Rules

This is something unique I have decided to add that most mucks do not have. If you like, you can add a rule, take a rule out, or modify a rule. Simpley page a wizard or email me and you can get started.
